Count Down the Days till Disney

“Make a colorful paper chain to count down the days till Disney! Make the last link out of aluminum foil for a special touch.”

Making a paper chain to count down to Disney is something I have been doing with my mother since I was a little girl.  She would take colorful construction paper and let us help tape the links together–one for every day we had left to go.  The final link she would make out of bright, silver tinfoil and the whole thing would be taped up on the wall with the last silver link being right below a picture of Mickey and friends outside of the castle.

I can still remember how excited I was to get up every morning to pull a link off with my sisters.  The Mickey and friends picture just came from a magazine, but these days it is even easier to print one off of the internet.  It’s a fun craft for kids AND adults.  Just don’t put up too many rings: Adam and I made the mistake once of booking far in advance and in this small space, 210 paper rings really have no place to go!

Still, every time we start planning a Disney vacation we both look forward to making that chain.  It helps the time pass just a little bit faster.  Or at least we like to think so!
