Collecting Can Be Fun But Addictive
“Pin collecting and trading can be fun, but addictive! Watch out! Same for Vinylmation. You might think you can buy just one but it’s hard!”
When we first went to Disney we thought anyone who was doing the pin trading thing was just out of their mind. What could possibly be so interesting about a bunch of pins? A few trips later we decided to get a lanyard with a pin starter kit on it, mostly to just hold all of our different keys and IDs. And thus we were sucked in. Adam had to have all the villains and I had to have one of each princess and whatever Donald I could find. Trading with the CMs was just so much fun! Even people on the bus wanted to see what pins you had. We quickly realized how expensive this new addiction could be so as soon as we got home we put the pins away and limited ourselves to only buying special ones on future trips–basically we only buy a pin for each resort we stay at when we stay at them. It’s a nice reminder.
When we saw the Vinylmation figurines this trip we pretty much thought the same thing. Why would anyone want any of those things?
And then we bought one. And then another. We stopped at four cause really, some of them are pretty ugly. But as they release more sets, the urge to buy is still there. So beware that like potato chips, you can’t really stop at one!
