The Grand Floridian is a perfect all-in-one downtime destination!

The Grand Floridian makes for a great all-in-one downtime destination!”

Taking a day away from the ‘mouse race’ of the parks? That doesn’t mean you need to stay in your resort. There’s Downtown Disney, the waterparks and more, but for a nice grown up day off, not much can beat the all-in-one convenience of the Grand Floridian. Start your morning with a nice breakfast at the Grand Floridian Cafe, then visit the Grand Floridian Spa for a morning massage, we’ve already covered high tea in the Garden View Lounge, then it’s back to the spa for an afternoon facial or manipedi and finally Narcoossee’s for a dinner of fantastic seafood and steaks. Go out on the deck to watch the fireworks or just stay in for a romantic evening in a low key, relaxing setting.

If you have kids, 1900 Park Fare is one of the more unique breakfasts around in that some villainous characters make an appearance. Outside of Halloween, one isn’t apt to run into the Wicked Stepsisters anywhere else, and the two of them are an absolute hoot. They play off of one another and off of kids (especially those who may be dressed like a certain princess) hilariously, setting a tone that’s more comedic than villainous. After breakfast, kids can participate in the Grand Floridian’s ladybug release (usually Thursdays at 11 AM, but check your times) and learn a little bit about green garden maintenance. Then there are plenty of cruises for both kids and adults that take place all day.

No matter how you spend your day in the Grand Floridian, make sure to take a little time off just to soak up the incredible atmosphere of the main lobby. Like the Wilderness Lodge and the Animal Kingdom Lodge, you have one enormous open room just designed to take your stress away and make you feel like you’ve come home, even if you’re actually staying at a resort on the other side of property. Listen to the music, do a little dancing, set up a boardgame on one of the tables, take in a little light reading, even look through some of the many exclusive shops around the lobby. No matter what you’re after on a lazy day off, the Grand Floridian has you covered.

And hey, if you change your mind about that day off? The Magic Kingdom and the TTC are just a few minutes away by monorail!
