You WILL Get Wet on Kali River Rapids

“Pay attention to the signs at Kali River Rapids! You WILL get wet, you MAY get soaked. Great for a hot day or a last ride of the day.”

This is one of those rides where the signs warn you again and again that you WILL get wet but you MAY get soaked and no one believes them.  Until they’re on the ride, that is.  This is the sort of ride where at least two, if not four, of the seats will at one time or another be absolutely inundated with water. Seriously, folks, we’re talking “you might as well have jumped in a swimming pool” soaked.  And the rest of the raft doesn’t fare much better.  

We made the mistake of riding this as soon as it opened one day.  We got off absolutely dripping wet and tried walking around feeling miserable for the next hour before bailing to go back to the hotel and change.  Don’t get me wrong, it’s a great ride, but maybe for the end of the day when you’re about to head back to the hotel anyway or if you’ve tucked all your clothes away and are wearing only a bathing suit.  The bathroom near this ride is always super busy with people trying to use the hand dryers to dry their clothes!  Pro tip: That doesn’t work and only makes people who need to use the bathroom annoyed with you.

If you’re the kind of person who doesn’t mind walking around in wet clothes all day–ignore this advice and those signs!  But otherwise everyone else should heed this posting and come prepared!  Preferably with a towel and a complete change of clothes on hand.
