Get Special Event Merchandise the First Day

If attending a special event, always make certain to grab event-specific merchandise the first day. These things tend to run out quickly.”

One of the only things Adam wanted the first time we went to Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party was a Halloween pin. We’d accidentally gotten sucked into the whole pin trading madness that year and during the Halloween parties they were releasing special Halloween pins–but only during the party itself. The problem was, we didn’t realize that last part and our only night at the ticketed special event we didn’t buy a pin and were dismayed to find that they were not available during regular business hours, only during Halloween nights. We learned our lesson pretty quickly and started to do research for the next events we’d attend. One of these was the Food and Wine Festival last October and we found lots of people saying that unless you got stuff on one of the first days, they usually sold out!  Apparently the resale value of some items is so great as collectables that people go in and buy armfuls of stuff!

While that’s pretty crazy, one thing I definitely wanted was a cookbook from the festival so as soon as we got to Epcot and the little stalls opened up? I bought one. Not that I’ve actually cooked anything out of it, but I like having it on my little Disney cookbook shelf! So I’d highly suggest that if you attend a ticketed event where they sell special event merchandise, if you see something you really want–get it then! You never know if it’ll be there when you come back or if they’ll be selling it during regular hours. Might as well just grab it then!
