Even Without Kids the Princess Breakfast at Akershus is Great
“The Princess Breakfast at Akershus is a must do if you have a little prince or princess of your own. Even without kids”
This character breakfast has been getting more and more well known, but it’s still relatively easy to walk up and get seated in the morning. At least, we’ve never had a problem. Akershus is great because you get all the princesses coming around to say hello and you also get into the World Showcase at Epcot before it opens, which means you get prime picture taking time. They limit you from walking all over, of course, but it’s still great.
The breakfast itself consists of a plate of delicious hot food they bring to your table for you to share, then theres a cold bar with fruit, meats, and fish to give it that Norwegian twist. When you first get there you get your picture taken with either Belle or Ariel (I think Belle is breakfast and Ariel is lunch or something like that) and the picture is later delivered to your table and is included in the price–a really nice touch. It didn’t used to be and it’s always awkward to have someone trying to hard sell you a picture of yourself looking barely awake while you are trying to stuff a cinnamon roll in your face.
As you might imagine there are lots and lots of little girls in princess dresses here–there’s a cart outside where you can BUY a princess dress if you happen to have not thought ahead and your own little princess is having a meltdown that she’s the only one not dressed up–we see this happen at least once every time. The Princesses are great even if you don’t have kids, though, and stop by your table to spend time with you and pose for pictures. They’ve never made us feel awkward or rushed because we didn’t have kids. This is usually how we start off our first day at Epcot and I would highly recommend it!
