The Wilderness Lodge Lobby is a Great Place to Unwind

Our favorite place to stay, hands down, is the Wilderness Lodge. While we’ve never stayed at the Grand Floridian with its lovely music and monorail access, I still think it would be hard to beat the fantastic theming and all-around relaxing feel of the Wilderness Lodge. There’s a bubbling brook that starts in the lobby then flows outside to cascade down the beautifully landscaped rocks outside and finally ends in the most awesome pool on Disney property. Also in the lobby you can find a roaring fireplace with a ton of comfortable seating in the form of rocking chairs and couches. One of our favorite things to do when staying here, no matter the season, is to head down to Roaring Forks in our jammies, get some hot chocolate in our refillable mugs, and just spend some quiet time sprawled out on a couch or sitting in front of the fire. It’s so cozy and relaxing, we’re definitely ready for bed by the time we finish that hot chocolate. While we haven’t gotten to stay at the Wilderness Lodge since our second trip in 2006, we still make it a point to drop by the lobby to just hang out during our resort hopping afternoon, it’s that relaxing!
