Walk the Nature Trails at the Animal Kingdom

Disney likes to say that the Animal Kingdom is nahtazu, but it’s still a great place to see tigers, gorillas, and more on the nature trails!”

But I don’t want to walk more, you might think when confronted with one of the many trails Animal Kingdom has to offer.  But fear not, each one is well worth your time and energy!

The Discovery Island Trails are ridiculously lush with foliage and offer the bird-lover in your family the chance to see some brightly colored birdies up close, while also letting you get a better look at the Tree of Life and all its carvings. The Pangani Forest Trail in Africa is the one that I would say is the most popular since it has a huge gorilla section, though personally I like the Maharajah Jungle Trek in Asia the best since there are TIGERS!  The tigers also have a huge amount of space to wander around in and every single inch of each one of the trails is Imagineered to look amazing–like you are actually stumbling through some ruins in India. Even the fountain that they have for the tigers looks like some old part of a forgotten palace.  The theming is just really amazing.

Oh and I forgot one more trail: The Camp Minnie Mickey Character Meeting Trails! Hit that one when the Festival of the Lion King is going on and you will have the characters mostly to yourself so remember your camera and autograph book!

There are tons more animals that I haven’t mentioned here on each of the trails (ever seen a hippo up close under water?  You can here!), so each one is really worth a visit. They tend to be more shaded areas of the park than the walkways to and from the rides, so they can be a good break from the sun.  So make sure you don’t these miss this educational and fun aspects of the Animal Kingdom!

And if you’re still wondering what nahtazu means, say it out loud a couple of times.  You’ll get it.
