Take Advantage of Special Programs

One of my earliest memories of Disney World is going out from the Polynesian on one of those little boats you can rent.  It was something we did every time we went and zooming along in the Seven Seas Lagoon was one of the best parts of the trip for me!  Since then Disney has greatly expanded its resorts and now you can rent a number of different boats from all sorts of places and it is something that is easily overlooked that I highly recommend people do at least once.  

If you don’t feel comfortable taking your own boat out, you can book an excursion with a Disney employee along for the ride and go fishing!  Not a boat person?  Port Orleans Riverside actually has a place where you can go fishing right off their sidewalk!  It’s a catch and release program of course, but every morning we always saw parents and kids excitedly casting their lines over the side and waiting for a bite.  It’s a nice, slow, relaxing way to enjoy Disney magic without the crowds of the parks and with a pool just a couple steps away!
