Rainy Day? Visit the Water Parks

“Warm, gray-sky rainy day? That’s the best time to visit the water parks! It’ll be pretty much empty and hey, you’re going to get wet anyway!”

No matter what time of year you are vacationing in Florida one thing is sure: it’s probably going to rain at least once while you’re there.  In the summer especially you can get sudden downpours and thunderstorms in the middle of the afternoon, while these storms are brief, there are other days that are just warm and drizzly.  While you certainly can still enjoy the Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood Studios, or the Animal Kingdom, we like to spend these days at Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach!

Think about it:  you’re going to a water park to get wet anyway.  And so long as it’s not storming really badly, they don’t close the water parks. And there aren’t that many people with the mindset of “oh it’s raining let’s go to the pool” so the times that we tried this trick, we walked on almost every single slide in the place numerous times.  When it rains it is the BEST time to be at the water parks!  People go running like they weren’t just swimming in water and have somehow developed an allergy to it.  The park empties out and it is just you and the Crush ‘n’ Gusher as many times as you want.  Just remember that you still need to wear sunscreen even on those gray days and to bring some dry clothes to change into so you don’t freeze to death on that air conditioned bus ride back to your hotel.
