Pools aren't just for Daytime
“Pools aren’t just for daytime, they can be a great way to unwind at night! With fewer crowds (and kids) they’re a great place to relax.”
The pool at the Wilderness Lodge is hands down my favorite pool on property. Not only is it refreshing, but the view just can’t be beat! With cascading waterfalls and a beautiful view of the back of the Lodge with all its windows, there’s just no better place to escape the heat during the day. But like all things Disney, the pool is often taken over by rambunctious imps working out the last of the sugar they had before nap time. Sometimes you just don’t feel like getting splashed and bumped into, so we used to skip the pool during the day even though we loved it.
And then we discovered the pool at night, which is awesome! For the most part, the majority of the kiddies are all tucked away in their bed, and the view becomes even more lovely with all the lights on at night. While there is no lifeguard on duty at these times (so swim safely at your own risk!) there are usually other people about, whether they’re just chatting in the chairs, taking a quiet swim of their own, or milling about in the hot tub nearby. We usually try to end a day with a swim either in the main pool or a quiet pool, depending on which is closer, at each resort we stay at. It’s a really great way to unwind after a long day on your feet. Just float away, take in the glorious setting, and give your poor over-walked muscles a rest!
