Start a Disney Piggybank
“Start a Disney piggybank to collect loose change for extra spending money for your trip. It can add up!”
This last trip to Disney we knew we would be pretty hard up for spending money, but we didn’t want to walk around the parks counting our pennies. So one day after a stop at Target we came home with this little fellow who we dubbed Fenway Pork. Fenway Pork became a place to dump any pocket change we had every day we came home and we started making sure that every penny we saw on the sidewalk we stopped to pick up–regardless of heads or tails status! We figured every little bit helped and we were right: in the end we managed to save up around $74 over the course of six months. Now that’s not a huge amount by any means, but it was pretty impressive considering we weren’t actively donating to the fund, we were just putting spare coins in whenever we happened to have any.
It was a fun project just to see how much loose change can accumulate over time. Except instead of hiding in the couch cushions or in coat pockets, we had it all safely in one place and had fun counting and rolling the coins before we left for the trip. And we then spent that money wisely drinking our way around Epcot. Good times!
