Always Check Calendars for Ride, Show, and Park Outages
“Always check the Disney calendars (official and unofficial) for ride outages and changes so that you don’t miss your favorite attraction!”
It’s a bit weird to think that you could go to Disney and have something as major as, say, the Haunted Mansion closed, but it has happened! If you think about it, Disney is ALWAYS busy so they have to schedule downtime in shifts for rides, shows, and parks so that only a couple of things are down at a time. I know it surprised me to learn that Blizzard Beach or Typhoon Lagoon is always down in November–so if you’re planning a trip then, double check which one you can’t live without! This year it looks like it’s Blizzard Beach’s turn. While some outages can happen without warning (the Tiki Lounge fire, for instance), most others are planned. I’ve found that the most “major” renovations usually start happening in August through November, which is when the parks are usually the slowest. But there’s no guarantees so make sure you’re always checking those calendars! And don’t worry, even if one of your favorite rides is down, there’s plenty more to enjoy!
