Try to Enjoy Waiting in Line

“Look around and enjoy standing in line! Don’t ignore all the details Disney provides when trying to make your wait a little less tedious.”

One thing Disney is really great at is crowd control.  It might not seem like it when you’re dying to get on Expedition Everest and the line is long, but it’s true. Disney’s Imagineers have gone all out to try to provide you with things to look at while you’re waiting for the person in front of you to inch forward a couple of steps. Rather than being annoyed that you have to wait, take a deep breath and look around. On rides like Expedition Everest there are TONS of things to look at and read while you wind your way through a museum dedicated to the yeti.  Both inside and out are decorated with tons of great objects and images from Tibet and we have fun reading the little displays as we go through. The Seas with Nemo and Friends is another example of some wonderful theming in the line itself as you wander from the beach right out under the ocean. And who doesn’t love seeing all the cool stuff around the Test Track line? It really helps to set the mood for the ride itself!

And even in the older rides that aren’t quite so engaging you can still find ways to make it interesting. Thunder Mountain, for instance, offers some really fantastic views from some parts of its line–the picture above was taken while standing in line one day! So instead of staring at the back of the person in front of you, relax and look around. You’re going to get on that ride no matter what, might as well enjoy everything while you wait!
