At Disney Hollywood Studios, make sure you make time for the shows early!

“At Disney Hollywood Studios, make sure you hit the shows early as they close before most other rides and exhibits!”

Erin’s not always a big fan of the shows, Disney Hollywood Studios or otherwise. When we’re waiting in line to see Indiana Jones or Lights! Motors! Action! there’s always the sense that we could be doing something else, like riding the Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster or the Tower of Terror about a dozen times each! Still, if I can trick her into a show, she has just as much fun as anyone else. In fact, Nemo over at the Animal Kingdom is a must see for us these days and I always try to work in Festival of the Lion King as well.

At Disney Hollywood Studios, the shows are one of the biggest draws, so make sure you plan enough time to see the ones that interest you and make sure you get to them early. There’s nothing quite as disappointing as realizing that you missed that day’s stunt car spectacular and they won’t be having another until Thursday. If you’ve seen them all a million times each, can quote the jokes at Indiana Jones in your sleep and know the Studios version of Beauty and the Beast by heart (those blaggards removed my favorite song!) then you can go ahead and skip the shows, but for those who’re only spending one day at DHS or are there for their first time, they’re all worth seeing in their own way and it’d be a shame to miss out!

One thing to keep in mind about the shows at DHS versus those in some of the other parks. Most of them aren’t inside. Beauty and the Beast, Indiana Jones and Lights, Motors, Action! all have outdoor seating. So don’t think you’re going to beat the heat this way. There’s shade, but if it’s hot, it’s still going to be hot while you watch the show. Grab a drink or bring a squirty-misty-fan thing.
