Don't throw coins into the water on boat rides.
“You might think tossing a coin into the rivers of It’s a Small World or Maelstrom might be a good idea. It isn’t!”
Disney has its official wishing wells and coin fountains for a reason. To give people a place to throw their coins! Oftentimes when coins get tossed into the waters of It’s a Small World or the Gran Fiesta Tour or Splash Mountain or any of the other places where you’re not supposed to toss your pennies. I’m sure the idea is nice. It’s the most magical place on Earth, after all. Maybe your wishes can come true even when your pennies go into the murky brown waters of the Jungle Cruise.
The problem is that Disney doesn’t clean these troughs out very often. As a result by the time they get around to it, many of the coins that have been thrown in are so corroded that they can’t even be identified as change anymore and often end up disposed of.
By tossing your coins into the wishing well near Cinderella Castle you not only make certain your wishes will come true but also that your coins will be going toward a good charity.
