Catch the flag retreat every day at 5 in Town Square on Main Street.

“For a brief burst of patriotism the flag retreat in the Magic Kingdom can’t be beat.”

The World offers plenty of chances for a patriotic experience, from the Voices of Liberty to the Hall of Presidents, but the flag retreat on Main Street shouldn’t be missed. Every day at a quarter ‘til five CMs will cordone off a small area of Town Square. Patriotic songs get played until five, at which point the flag is pulled down and passed to the veteran of the day, who gets a pin, a photo and a certificate for his participation. It’s absolutely worth seeing at least once. 

And if you are interested in being the veteran of the day, just stop in at Town Hall early in the morning. They only need a few details and if you didn’t bother bringing papers with you on the trip Disney works on the honor system, so as long as you can give them information about your arm of the military and time of service, you will be fine.
