Disney Cruise Line: The Room

Since this was our first cruise we didn’t know what to expect from the room and hadn’t made any special reservations since we had no idea what rooms might be better than others. The only thing we knew is that we wanted a veranda for a couple of reasons: if you’re going on a cruise, why not be able to chill out on your own private deck? Also we weren’t sure if sea sickness was going to be an issue and had been told it is easier to deal with if you can get some fresh air and look at the horizon. Then there was the weather angle–it was just nice to be able to step outside and know what sort of weather you would be dealing with that day so you could dress accordingly. When our room was finally ready we were super excited to head up to the 8th floor to check it out. And we were not disappointed:

Because it was our honeymoon/1st anniversary, Adam had arranged for some surprise treats to be there when we first walked in.

The room was by no means huge, but it was pretty perfect for two people and we thought the split bathroom was cute. But both of us were dying to go out and see the view from the balcony. Sure, all we were seeing at that point was the dock, but look down into the water and what was there swimming around? Two dolphins! In fact as I took this picture, Adam was reaching in to grab me to pull me outside so that I could see them playing around down there:

What you can’t see in the picture is the TV that was just to the side of the desk and mirror which played Disney movies 24-7–an absolutely delightful way to wind down after a day of running around islands or just the boat itself. However we didn’t feel like relaxing quite yet, we still had a ton of ship to explore!
