Disney Cruise Line: Finally On The Ship

I was pretty nervous as we walked down the hall to get on the ship. What if I hated it? What if I felt trapped? What if I got seasick? What if this entire trip was a disaster? I mean from the outside it looked nice but inside…
Inside it was even nicer. I should have had faith in Disney to keep up the excitement–as we entered the ship for the first time there were two rows of ship workers, all decked out in nice dress whites, clapping as our family name was announced as if we were entering some kind of fancy ball.

And I cannot really begin to tell you through text how HUGE the entryway felt. Huge. I couldn’t keep from smiling as we walked between those two rows of clapping, welcoming ship workers or looking around with wide eyes just trying to take it all in. It took awhile. We had already been told that the room wouldn’t be ready as soon as we got on the ship and we’d be encouraged to go get something to eat and explore a little. We didn’t want to lug our luggage everywhere, but we did spend some time exploring the lobby. Again, I cannot stress to you how huge and beautiful it was so here are some pictures:

The “theme” of the Fantasy was Minnie and peacocks and little glimpses of each were everywhere–from the big statue by the grand piano to the carpets and the dazzling chandeliers. Everywhere we looked there were Disney Touches–those Disney Details that you only find at, well, Disney!

There was a “queen” chair on the opposite side that I posed in, but I love this picture of “King Adam!”
Since our room wasn’t ready and we were staring to feel lame just hanging out in the lobby taking a picture every two steps, we decided to head up to Cabanas, the main buffet restaurant, to finally get something to eat and just start relaxing.

We were finally starting to unwind from our whirlwind trip out there, realizing we made it on the boat and that vacation was starting! So of course I packed my plate with healthy selections:

Adam had stepped away, telling me he wanted to go take pictures from the deck, but he returned only moments later to hand me this:

Ahhhhhhhh, yes. Vacation really had begun!
Next up: The Room!
