When I dressed up as the girl from the stretch painting in the Haunted Mansion I didn’t think anyone would recognize me. Boy, was I wrong! I had people (castmembers and visitors!) running after me in the park to tell me that the loved my outfit. When I rode the Haunted Mansion (a dozen or so times) I not only got called out by the ghost on the lawn as a fellow ghost, I got double takes from the usually stone-faced crew manning the Haunted Mansion that night. I’d go in and stand under the portrait and then watch as people noticed and started whispering that there was a ghost in the room. It was super awesome. Adam also got noticed because of his Beagle Boy ensemble. Sure, people usually couldn’t peg what he was right away, but for those of us who loved the Disney Afternoon, as soon as he held up his sack with a big $ on it, there would be shrieks of joy.

Definitely do NOT dress up as someone from a recent popular movie. I cannot tell you how many Alices and Mad Hatters we saw. However if you can do a group concept, that gets tons of attention too: my favorite group had to be the mom that was Wendy, the Dad that was Captain Hook, and the kids that were John, Peter Pan, Michael and Tinkerbell. Perfect!
