Hey, so I just saw your post about your Halloween Party costume and I wanted to let you know I absolutely love your costume! :) I really want to go to the Halloween Party as the Mansion ballerina next month, and I was wondering how to go about putting together the costume. Did you make yours yourself? The one thing I'm really struggling with is how to do the collar/cape thing around her neck and the poofy sleeves! I'd love any help you could give! Thanks so much!!!!

Hi and thank you! For putting together the costume I actually went to a fabric store and got a pattern for one of those “sexy” queen costumes. The one where they have like several different dresses you can make with short skirts all in one pattern. Then I just sort of improvised pieces with what I wanted to do (there was a collar pattern in one of them!) and added on the sleeves myself–just cut the top and bottoms out of their fabric and sewed them together, put them on the edges of the collar. If I had to do it over again I would go with: longer skirt and I’d see if I could pad the sleeves to make them more poofy. 

And for the pattern on the skirt–stencils! I highly recommend getting a little stuffed alligator too. Not many people recognized me but the people that did made a HUGE deal out of it and of course, I ended up riding the Haunted Mansion over and over again just to get reactions :)
