Memory #2: The Band In Liberty Square

I actually remember this because my sister and I were the first kids to run up to the Main Street Philharmonic band members after they stopped playing in Liberty Square to ask if we could take a picture with them. They immediately put these hats on us so we could tell everyone at home we were “part of the band.” This of course meant that every other kid then ran up to try on a hat, but we managed to get this picture in anyway. My sister Katie was super shy, but you can tell how pleased she is in this picture–and there’s that Minnie Mouse dress again. I’m just looking super awkward with my gangly arms wearing a dress my mom brought me back from Hawaii–since we were staying at the Polynesian it fit right in! I still remember how nice they were to us and I’ve always wanted to recreate this picture, but now I’m the shy one and I never go up and ask when we run into the band in the Magic Kingdom! Oh well, maybe some day…
